The Secret to Resisting Temptation

1. By the power of the Spirit and the Word of God
Luke 4:2-4

Temptation No. 1 (Power) The devil said to Him, "If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread."

Luke 4:5-8

Temptation No. 2 (Possession) (The devil said) "I will give you all their (kingdoms of the world) authority and splendor ... if you worship me..."

Luke 4:9-19

Temptation No. 3 (Position) The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. "...throw yourself down from here... " He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully."

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. - (NIV) I Corinthians 10:13
