On June 21st forty teenagers and fourteen adults from FBC traveled 1300 miles to Baja, California where they did short-term missions work. This was the 10th trip that the FBC Sr. Highers have taken to Tijuana, Mexico to serve with the missionary they champion, Jesus Rodriguez at Vida Neuva Church.
Our ministry included Vacation Bible School at an orphanage housing 40 elementary age boys, as well as to children in the community surrounding Jesus' church. Some of our youth did construction projects for the very poor of Tijuana, fix-it projects at the orphanage and work on Jesus' home. On our last night in Tijuana, Dan Rarick and Jesse Aschbrenner performed a (karate) brick-breaking demonstration followed by Dan's testimony.
This morning the youth of FBC will be bringing this trip to life for you through slides, video, a skit, worship and testimonies. Thanks to all who cheered on our youth through prayers and financial gifts (purchasing t-shirts, pizza and coupon books). All our material needs were met...and then some!
About the colored beads in the zip-lock baggie: Hold onto this baggie until that part of the service where you'll be instructed in what the beads stand for and what to do with them. Thanks.
